BudgIT Nigeria put out this infographic yesterday about the levels of transparency in the states, regarding their budgets.

Only 6 of 36 states have published their budgets online: Lagos, Edo, Nassarawa, Abia, Osun and Kaduna. Of these 6, only Kaduna, Abia and Nassarawa have detailed budgets online. Budgets are one of the most important documents of a state government or federal government, because they help to clarify what a government’s objectives are, and the extent to which those objectives are met.

Is your state’s budget online?
Is it published in full?
If the answer to any of the above is ‘No’, can you make a commitment to changing that?
